Ģ����ý has named Michael L. Draves, CPA to its board of trustees for a three-year term.

“The college is excited to have Mike join our board of trustees. He brings a wealth of experience in both the corporate and academic arenas,” said Dr. Bassam Deeb, president, Ģ����ý. “We look forward to his contributions to our strategic planning over the next three years.”

Draves is executive in residence, accounting at University at Buffalo (UB) School of Management. In this role, he teaches classes on financial auditing and uses his more than 25 years of experience to assist accounting students with career counseling, advise School of Management faculty and staff about practice matters, and develop new and existing relationships in the business community for the benefit of students and faculty. In addition, Draves serves on the UB School of Management’s Accounting Advisory Council.

Prior to his retirement from KPMG in 2021, Draves served as partner and Upstate New York audit practice leader, providing professional audit services to multinational, mid-market and emerging companies. A resident of Buffalo, he also serves as board member and treasurer for Junior Achievement of Central Upstate New York.

• Barbara S. Kuppel, MS, BSN, RN, CPHQ, vice president and chief nursing officer, Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute. She is a Hamburg resident.

• Jeffrey P. Mullin, MD, associate program director and assistant professor, Department of Neurosurgery and co-fellowship director, Spine Surgery Fellowship, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo. He is a Buffalo resident.

• Joelle M. Toal, RN, BSN, MUP,’14 associate vice president of clinical operations, Evergreen Health. She is a resident of Corfu.

The officers include:

• Lisa M. Kirisits, CPA was re-elected to chair. She has served on the board since 2019, and also previously served from 2005 – 2014, serving as chair from 2010 – 2013. Kirisits is managing director of Kirisits & Associates, CPAs, PLLC, a full-service public accounting firm providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations. She resides in Lancaster.

• Sean Willett was named vice-chair. As a Trocaire trustee since 2018, he has previously served as chair of the audit and re-engineering sub-committees. Willett is executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Five Star Bank. He lives in Clarence.

• Tracey Maw was re-elected board secretary. With nearly 30 years of nursing experience, she is vice president of assisted living services with RCA Healthcare Management. Maw has served on Trocaire’s board of trustees since 2016 and as secretary since 2020. She lives in Lancaster.

• Larry Christ was named treasurer. He joined the Trocaire board in 2021. With 35 years of experience in chief executive roles, he is business consultant, executive and owner of Vistage Worldwide, Inc. He is an Orchard Park resident.
