Pharmacy Technician Program
This program is designed to train students for a career as a Pharmacy Technician in hospitals or pharmacies. The Pharmacy Technician Program provides students with the skills and knowledge to work in the Pharmacy environment. Pharmacy technicians typically work under the direction of a Pharmacist to measure, mix, count out, label and record amounts and dosages of medications based on the prescription orders as well as provide customer service.
To qualify for this program, students will need to submit:
- High School Transcripts/GED or Diploma
- Complete a Reading Comprehension Test and or Submit College Transcripts
- Complete College Health Forms and submit proof of vaccination against COVID-19

Students will use Trocaire’s Online Learning Management System, Blackboard, to complete their classwork.
Students will receive the following services and course materials at no additional cost:

- Full funding may be available for qualified applicants
- The cost of the program is $2,000

What do Pharmacy Technicians do?
Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
Enter prescription information into computer databases.
Establish or maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.
Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
